Bronx Narratives is an online publication that provides a fresh view on our community. The Bronx is a place that is often associated with negative stereotypes, so we've created a platform for our readers to help understand the lifestyle of the Bronx. Created and run by Bronx native photographer, Dondre Green and fellow Bronxites. We invite you to experience our borough through our eyes. View our timeline.

TEAM

DONDRE GREEN / FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR I've made it my duty to help people see my borough the way I've grown to learn and appreciate it. I believe in the idea of fostering community and bringing likeminded individuals together. There's too many stories to tell and I'm fully committed to sharing them. I'd also like to learn salsa at some point.

DECOTA LETMAN / LEAD EDITOR & LOGISTICS COORDINATOR As a Bronx Native and food/wine enthusiast, I spend my free time trying to find new places to eat and meet new people. My new found love of the Bronx has pushed me to experience different cultures in and around the community. I want to use my life experience to show people that we do not have to be a product of our society. My bubbly personality and inviting spirit is what helps me connect with others. As a PR specialist, visionary, writer, event coordinator, and woman, I plan to use my gifts to show others our borough has more to offer than what meets the eye.

HOAY SMITH / ART DIRECTOR I find myself becoming more intrigued by design and function and how to mesh that with beauty and minimalism. When illustrating or curating a project, I have to focus on aesthetics. Being born and raised in the Bronx gives me a better sense of direction on how I can communicate these ideas throughout my borough.

PEDRO PINCAY / SOCIAL MEDIA  Living in the Boogie Down since birth. At a young age I found serenity in the steady traffic of the Grand Concourse and Tremont Ave. I'm a sports enthusiast and a die hard Yankees' fan. My favorite part of the Bronx is the walk from Fordham road to Tremont Ave. The walk where I was able to get anything from a pair of kicks to some of the best pizza in the Bronx.

SABRINA HALL / GRAPHIC DESIGNER A Bronx native and resident who enjoys exploring new parts of the borough I call home. I’m an avid problem solver, art director, and graphic designer who is passionate about all things design, and have been involved with the AIGA/NY Mentor program as a mentor and co-coordinator for the past five years. When I’m not sitting behind my computer you can find me bike riding along the Bronx River or grabbing tacos on Pelham Parkway. My favorite Bronx moment is summer time with a “frio-frio” and live jazz at Woodlawn.

KAYLA SMITH / WRITER I'm a Wakefield native, an outgoing introvert who loves performing poetry, dancing, rich conversations packed with humor and repartee, a good book and her dictionary app. I enjoy discussions about God, the paradigms of power structure in America and the African Diaspora. Going back to Antigua for a more authentic accent is top five on my to-do-list. Professionally, I freelance as a Graphic Artist, perform poetry and I'm building Bronx Collective, my budding Bronx-based organization which uses the Arts and activism to elevate the Bronx.
